IDEA 2004 Special Education Web Resource Center for Parents and ProfessionalsThe Let Them Hear Foundation Advocacy Program received a grant to create an internet-based resource center for parents and professionals working with children with disabilities to provide a fundamental understanding of the key concepts of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 2004 (IDEA 2004). The information provided on this website is also available in Spanish. While the information on this website will be useful for parents and professionals dealing with a child with any of the thirteen disability categories defined by IDEA 2004, the primary focus of the website is to provide information to parents and professionals on issues related to the specific category of hearing impairment (including deafness). What You'll FindOf special importance, the IDEA topic summaries are organized to best equip individuals with not only a general understanding of the subject matter, but also with knowledge of the applicable legal language from IDEA 2004 and its implementing Regulations. After reading a topic summary, an individual will have a general overview of the subject matter, the relevant law, and practical tips for both parents and professionals serving families of children with disabilities.
