Jennifer Eckenhoff, Au.D., CCC-A serves as a Cochlear Implant Audiologist for
the Let Them Hear Foundation.
Dr. Eckenhoff received her Doctor of Audiology degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She previously worked at the Ear Institute
of Chicago, and the University of Chicago Hospital. She has experience with hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHA implants, and aural rehabilitation.
She also serves as Diagnostic Audiologist for the California Ear Institute, administering both audiologic and vestibular testing.
As LTHF Cochlear Implant Audiologist, Dr. Eckenhoff provides comprehensive audiologic services to pediatric and adult populations for LTHF's Cochlear
Implant Program. Dr. Eckenhoff is licensed by the State of California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board. She is a member of the
American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She joined the staff at LTHF in October
2007.
Amy Henderson Brown serves as the Director of Advocacy for the Let Them Hear Foundation, a medical organization passionate about bringing the gift of hearing to those living in silence in the U.S. and around the world, specifically those of underprivileged circumstances. Previously, Ms. Brown worked as Partner for VIA Inc., a limited service investment banking firm, providing merger and acquisition services to a variety of high technology clientele, particularly semiconductor manufacturers. As LTHF Director of Advocacy, Ms. Brown handles complex lawsuits related to insurance appeals, and all recruiting and training activities for other advocacy team members. Her responsibilities include litigation and oral appeals, and strategic planning in the areas of public outreach and legislation.
Ms. Brown received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Ms. Brown is a member of the California Bar Association.
Annie Vranesic, Au.D., CCC-A serves as a Pediatric and Cochlear Implant Audiologist for the Let Them Hear Foundation. Ms. Vranesic earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, Master of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, and Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) through the University of Florida. Previously, Ms. Vranesic worked for the House Ear Institute CARE Center, providing diagnostic, hearing aid and cochlear implant services to the pediatric population.
As an LTHF Pediatric and Cochlear Implant Audiologist, Ms. Vranesic provides comprehensive audiologic services for LTHF's Cochlear Implant Program and Pediatric Hearing Device Center. She also provides educational audiology services for the Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School for the Deaf in Redwood City. Ms. Vranesic holds California State Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing licenses, as well as a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology with the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She joined the staff at LTHF in June 2006.
Barry Del Buono is the Executive Director of the Let Them Hear Foundation.
Mr. Del Buono is a long-term resident of the Bay Area and has been extremely
active and successful in the Silicon Valley non-profit realm for over 25
years. Barry brings to LTH remarkable expertise in fund raising and
development, operations, program administration and coordination, team
building and success as the Founder, President and CEO of EHC Life Builders.
In 2007, Barry received the prestigious Humanitarian of the Year Award from
the City of San Jose. He brings experience from Harvard Business School
Non-Profit Management, a Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Divinity.
Barry's fundraising on a local, state, and national level benefits LTH and
those with hearing impairment. His ability to enlist the support of major
corporations (Cisco Systems, Adobe, Intel, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft
and others), national political figures, real-estate developers, community
organizations, churches, and municipalities is of particular importance to
our LTH future.
Speech-Language Pathologist
Director of Education & Outreach
Joy Murdock Kearns, M.S., CCC-SLP earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the
University of California at Santa Barbara. She earned her Master of Science
degree at San Francisco State University, where she completed a
specialization track in aural rehabilitation. Joy serves as Speech-Language
Pathologist and the Director of Education & Outreach for the Let Them Hear
Foundation. Previously Joy served on cochlear implant teams at several major
California hospitals, and simultaneously conducted operations at her own
private practice.
As LTHF Speech-Language Pathologist, Joy provides evaluation services,
speech therapy, and aural (re)habilitation for adults and children with
cochlear implants and hearing aids. As Director of Education & Outreach Joy
works with the LTHF team to provide continuing education opportunities for
professionals, patients and their families. Joy is the ASHA CE Administrator
for LTHF. And she is the regional site director of the Professional
Preparation in Cochlear Implants (PPCI) program.
Melodie Griffanti, M.S., CCC-A serves as an Audiologist for the Let Them Hear Foundation.
Ms. Griffanti has provided hearing aid, cochlear implant and diagnostic services for over 10 years. She provides a wide range of audiological services for adults and children, performing a full range diagnostic testing including pediatric hearing tests, balance and electrophysiologic tests as well recommendation and fitting of hearing devices and cochlear implants. A member of the American Academy of Audiology, Griffanti received her Master's degree in audiology from the California State University, Sacramento and completed her fellowship year in Philadelphia in 1986 after which she received her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. She has been licensed by the State of California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board and the Hearing Aid Dispensers Bureau since 1989.
Sheri Byrne-Haber, B.Sc., J.D. joined the Foundation in 2004 and is the
former Director of the Insurance Advocacy Program. Ms. Byrne-Haber has been championing the cause of overcoming insurance denials for hearing impaired
individuals since 1997, assisting almost 1000 individuals in appealing their insurance denials.
Ms. Byrne-Haber has an undergraduate degree in computer science and a law degree from the University of San Francisco.
She passed the July, 1997 California bar exam, and is currently completing an MBA in Health Care from George Washington University. She has 3
daughters, one of whom is hearing impaired.
Taylor Hoang serves as an Associate Advocate for the Let Them Hear Foundation Advocacy Program. Previously, Ms. Hoang worked as an Associate Attorney at a civil rights law firm, where through federal litigation, she helped to make countless public accommodations accessible to people with disabilities. As a LTHF Associate Advocate, Ms. Hoang works with the Director of Advocacy on complex cases related to insurance appeals, and provides advice to parents regarding special education law.
Ms. Hoang has an undergraduate degree in Rhetoric & Communication from UC Davis and a law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. Ms. Hoang is a member of the California Bar Association.
